This Season's Statement Blazer
A couple weeks ago I went to Old Gold, a local vintage shop, and was shocked to find out they had a "$5 and under" sale. Since high school, I have enjoyed going to random thrift and consignment stores and finding unique pieces. Some of my favorite bags and jewelry items are from thrift stores I shopped at ages ago. Today I wanted to show you two pieces, bag and earrings, I added to the collection and how I style them with this season’s statement blazer, entirely inspired by 70s fashion. We're talking plaid, big buttons, large lapels, and oversized fits. It's all the obsession this season and while I won't be styling every take on a blazer, I am 100% down to don an oversized plaid blazer like this one from Target's A New Day collection. I am still on a journey of loving prints in every season. It may never happen, but so far I think plaid get's me pretty close to the finish line.
About The Fit
Please, thank yourself later and go a size up. I always struggle with Target's sizing. They have their non-plus items that go up to size 18 and then their plus items that go up to size 24. Their non-plus item sizing is way off in my opinion. I bought this blazer in the non-plus size 18 and it didn't fit me at all. So, I went up a size in the plus (got 20) because I wanted to keep the oversized fit and it worked perfectly.
