A Day Away
I want to sit here and write something super impactful and raw about why I’m sharing this day trip with you but the truth is I just needed a seriously good day off and I knew being in the Sun, near the beach and with one of my best friends would be the answer.
I took my one-day-vacay to the Santa Cruz area for a long-awaited and much-needed escape and thought I'd share a snippet of some of my captures from the day.
Check out the travel and Coffee Shop Chronicles rundown below:
Before you go, here are 3 tips I used to help me have a one-day weekend getaway
Take pictures! But don’t make that your main objective. I LOVE taking pictures of almost everything but limit yourself to a certain number so that you can enjoy what’s in front of you. I realize I never got actual pictures of the beach because I was genuinely enjoying my surroundings and didn’t even think to shoot a pic
Go with someone you vibe with or maybe just go solo: each of these options produces a certain result. If you’re really looking to have 0% distractions, just want to take a break with your brain and do your own thing, a solo day trip may be for you. If you’re looking to share the day with someone because you’re wanting to do something fun together, make sure that person understands you and vibes with how you travel/adventure. If all you wanna do is sit on the beach, that person’s going to want the same or similar
Be flexible & STOP PLANNING: hahaha I’m laughing because it’s almost as if I’m yelling this to myself as I look in the mirror. I think I’m putting this here for me secretly. I’d like to think I’m a go with the flow person, but I do have the tendency to be stuck in my head planning for things- even my best friend rightfully called me out for it.
