Sunday With Subtile
A little different post for you all today. This past week I honestly tried to film a Youtube video for you all as well as a look and for some reason, the creative juices were just not flowing. So, I figured I’d share something a little different and more travel based. Some of you may know I live in the Sacramento area and this past year my city has stepped its game up and local artists have taken to the City of Trees to showcase their incredible talent. I spent a lot of this past Summer visiting different walls and art structures with my friends and it has been one of my favorite activities.
This past Sunday, I headed to the West side of Sacramento to pay a visit to Subtile". "Subtile" is an epic 14 feet high art structure built by Federico Diaz, a Czech artist. It’s made of sheet metal and disks and when you see it in person, it’s incredibly reflective of its surroundings. I went there with my close friend (also one of my favorite photographers-check out her page here) right before sunset and it was the best decision we made. Even though it was quite busy when we went, we were able to get some killer shots with Diaz’ phenomenal artwork. If you’re in the Sacramento area or looking for a weekend getaway, come on over and check it out.
**How To Get There**
South of the Tower Bridge along the River Walk in West Sacramento. It's between The Barn and the Tower Bridge. My tip is to put in the address for The Barn (985 Riverfront Street West Sacramento, CA 95691) in your GPS and once you get there, you can see the structure from the street. Park your car on the street and enjoy the super quick walk to the artwork.
If you happened to be interested in shopping the look I wore in this post...
