In A Relationship With A Striped Sweater + Blog Announcement
In A Relationship With A Striped Sweater
Here's what I'm not going to do: talk about that theory regarding horizontal stripes on a curvy girl. Here's what I am going to do: show you my style take on such a stunning article of clothing.
When I saw this sweater, I did that thing that I've told you guys I often do: I stared at it romantically and told myself "I don't care what anyone, including my wallet, says, I am buying you and you will be mine forever. This sweater is the epitome of what this autumnal season is. When I look at it, I think golden fallen leaves, warm coffee with nutmeg, layered knit clothing, cloudy gloomy days with a surprise golden sunset, and coffee shop chronicles with friends. And, it makes me a whole lot of happy.
Pants & Jacket
I love skirts and dresses, but I know that I spend most of my time in denim/pants so I wanted to style the sweater in the way I would wear it most for you all. To stay cohesive with the darker colors of the sweater, I opted for a pair of high-waisted black denim and a dark denim jacket. The denim jacket helped in adding my own personal touch to the sweater. But, the sweater is a star piece by itself, so feel free to wear it without the jacket.
Shoes & Accessories
I am so, so, so in love with these patent boots and leather backpack. Even though they aren't matching when it comes to shades of what I would call red, they work in perfect harmony with the sweater's multiple berry-like colors. I was promoted by my best friend, who also slayed these photos (Shoutout to her!), to mix the colors together because they still worked so well together. And, I am so glad I took her advice because the color combination is so unpredictably kickass.
I decided to pass on contacts for this look because my Warby Parker "Laurel 17" in Espresso Tortoise glasses worked just right with the cozy sophistication of this look.
