A Maxi Dress In The Fall

Usually, I will wear mid-calf/knee-length dresses with tights and boots, but this season I wanted to challenge myself (and maybe you) to take a Summer floral maxi and make it wearable for the Fall. The majority of your Summer clothes have probably been pushed to the far right end of your closet, yet there are some pieces that deserve to stay. Pieces like your favorite maxi dress.

While I’m still working out the kinks of styling a floral maxi, the one look that I favor the most includes a leather moto jacket and heeled ankle booties. Adding strong and structured pieces, like a leather jacket, to an often feminine item (like a flowy maxi dress) is the epitome of a well-done outfit juxtaposition. It's also a strategic way to add subtle color to your wardrobe this season, especially for those of us that just don’t jive with bright colors in the Fall.
