Welcome to the Total BS part of The Smiling Sweetheart world. You'll see Total BS used a lot here on the blog and my social media platforms. It's a catchy term that stands for Total Bag, Shoe/Style.

Today's Total BS lesson: everyone has a uniform. That is, their go-to look, something they're most comfortable in. My uniform: anything involving a leather jacket. I love, love, love this leather jacket. I purchased it from F21 two years ago, and it was the best decision I ever made. It's definitely an edgy piece and I love that I can create so many looks with it to change it up and give it a new feel. That's why I knew I had to pair it with this pleated skirt from Boohoo and these pointy open heeled ankle booties  heels. The pleated skirt was a major trend this past Spring/Summer, but I obviously couldn't let go of such a great piece. You'll also be seeing a lot of pleated skirts this Fall/Winter season, especially in metallic golds and silvers.

If you aren't feeling a pair of heels with your pleated skirt, try a pair of ballerina flats, Converse, or your fave sneaks (check out some of the ones I tagged below) along with a moto leather jacket and you can instantly change the look from edgy feminine to cool-girl chic.

STYLE TIP: If you have a trend-based item from a previous season that you don't want to give up, pair it with current season-related items and consider layering.

Where I'd wear this: Fall/Winter Fashion Week, undoubtably.

In style,

The Smiling Sweetheart

PS: I picked some similar pieces to the ones in my post for all my girls out there, so that whatever your size you can slay this look, too!
